This week, the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) released a toolkit with top strategies that city leadership can employ to stimulate economic development through reducing costs and contributing to job growth, while reducing carbon emissions to meet climate action goals.

The toolkit’s strategies are supported by examples of cities nationwide that have enacted policies, programs and incentives to achieve energy efficiency, which will be imperative to COVID-19 economic recovery. The examples show that when enact, the impact that energy efficiency can make on a community transcends cost savings, and can contributes to improved community health and equity, increased grid resilience, and economic vitality. For more, ACEEE provides a summary of the recommendations and the full toolkit can be accessed here.
