OPEN POSITIONS
Sustainability Manager
Sustento is seeking a Sustainability Manager to lead sustainability consulting projects for commercial, multifamily, industrial real estate and private equity clients. This position’s core responsibilities involve leading the completion, review, and delivery of ESG consulting projects, strategic planning, benchmarking assessments, ESG reporting and analysis working closely with key clients.
Reports to: Managing Director, Operations
Time Commitment: Full time, fully remote – work from anywhere, however, candidates must be able to work within Pacific Standard Time business hours. SG values work life balance and provides flexibility to accommodate family commitments and life adventures whenever possible.
Compensation: Salary, commensurate with experience. Full time employees are eligible for medical, dental, vision, 401K, paid holidays, sick and vacation time.
Outline of Tasks and Responsibilities:
Lead ESG/Sustainability client projects, including project execution, composition and review of high-stakes deliverables (reports, memos, submissions, etc.) and coordinating requests for information (RFIs) between clients and collaborating partners.
Development, execution, and review of a wide range of client deliverables over variable timelines, including: ESG benchmarking assessments (GRESB, CDP), ESG reports and reporting framework disclosures (GRI, SASB, TCFD), ESG assessment memos, strategic plans, and materiality assessments.
Research and provide client-facing and internal reports, overviews and/or presentations on client or topic-specific industry trends and best practices.
Update and maintain organization of project management system to track projects, workplans and deadlines.
Qualifications:
Required
At least one year of experience in ESG reporting and knowledge of various corporate sustainability reporting frameworks and standards such as SBTi, CDP, GRESB, TCFD, SASB, GRI, UN SDGs, UN PRI, SFDR, etc.
Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability Management, Political Science, Architecture, Economics, Business, Engineering, or fields related to Environment/Sustainability
Demonstrated interest in ESG strategy development and implementation in commercial real estate industry
Highly detail-oriented, strong organizational skills, self-starter and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic work environment
Excellent writing, interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Passion for sustainability and impact
Quantitative skills, analytical ability and data management skills
Familiarity with the sustainability reporting value chain (i.e., ratings agencies versus data aggregators versus technology providers)
Paid Sustainability Internship
Sustento is seeking a part-time Sustainability Intern to support GRESB and other ESG reporting projects from January to June of 2024. This position’s core responsibilities involve supporting the completion, review, and delivery of ESG consulting projects, including strategic planning, benchmarking assessments, ESG reporting, and analysis. This role would be a great fit for a current student or recent graduate who is interested in pursuing a career in sustainability.
Reports to: Sustainability Manager
Time Commitment: Part-time, from January 2024 to June 2024 through the GRESB reporting season. The role is fully remote; however, candidates must be able to work within Pacific Standard Time.
